Women’s Month is Here, and We’ve Got Big Plans!
Hello friend! 💛
As we close out on the month of Love, we want to remind you that love isn’t just in the grand gestures—it’s in the consistency, the passion, and the moments that leave a mark. Speaking of impact, the 2025 Grammys was a night for Black and African women to remember! It was a powerful moment with 24 incredible black women breaking records, owning the stage, and taking home well-deserved wins that will be remembered for years. Catch up on all the major Grammy highlights here!
We started the month with our Spotlight feature, shining a light on the amazing Ojinika Obiekwe! A talented Nigerian journalist and media powerhouse, she’s using her voice to shape and celebrate African stories on the global stage. In this insightful conversation, she takes us through her journey from being a young Nigerian girl to covering major events like the Grammys and VMAs. She also shares how she blends global influence with authentic African storytelling while interviewing top Hollywood stars and more. Read up on her full interview here.
For our weekly LLA Interviews, these three captivating women—Kafy Karam, founder and CEO of Ale Beaute Clinic; Onyinye Christiana Ken-Nwankwo, visionary founder of Aspira by Nuella O’Touch; and Sahndra Fon Dufe, founder of African Pictures International and Black Film Wire joined us in February. These women shared their journeys, revealing how they empower and uplift other women, boost confidence, and drive success. Find out everything right here.
The energy in February was electric! Black and African women did amazing things, and we’re excited to share highlights that stood out the most to us:
