Let’s Make 2025 Count!
Hello friends!
2025 is a fresh start! And it is already bursting with new possibilities. If last year didn’t go as expected, don’t worry—you’ve got a clean slate to work with. We’ve stepped into this new year with renewed hope and the belief that everything will fall into place. Do you know why? We are dream chasers! We’re ever ready to make history— and our biggest money moves ;-)
As always, we double down on our mission to highlight powerful voices that shape our diverse community, and thus, kicked the year off with our LLA Spotlight for January, Tisa Chigaga, a storyteller extraordinaire whose journey as a Zambian biochemist to filmmaker is impactful and inspiring.
Her powerful stories go beyond promoting the Zambian culture, they also spark important conversations that challenge societal stereotypes. In this captivating interview, Tisa shares the motivation behind her latest film ‘Bride of Zambia’, taking us deeper into why she challenges gender norms and broader societal issues with her stories. Read her full interview here.
LLA’s Interview feature for January celebrated the brilliance of multi-talented women. We had conversations with three giants in the legal, fashion, and travel industries.
Bernice Asein, the Founder and Executive Director of the Fashion Law Institute, Silvia Njoki, a multi-talented travel and lifestyle Digital Creator shaping the way African women experience travel with Soul Sync Discoveries, and the inspiring fashion entrepreneur and CEO of ANYA, Anyafulugochukwu Chukwurah.
We have constantly seen African women pull up in their A-game, and January did not fall short of our expectations. They started 2025 with strength, excellence, and brilliance. We saw African women climb ladders and take up spaces well deserved. Here are some highlights of moments that truly inspired us:
